Bio: Michael K. Goldberg received his Juris Doctorate in 1992 from the University of Illinois College of Law. He also received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics from the University of Illinois-Urbana. In 1992, Michael K. Goldberg joined the Cook County State's Attorneys Office where he prosecuted criminal matters for 5 years. As an Assistant State's Attorney, Mike tried 12 jury trials and numerous bench trials. In addition to being licensed to practice law in Illinois, Michael is admitted to the Trial Bar in the United States District Court, Northern District of Illinois.

Practice: Michael K. Goldberg has two areas of concentration, Health Care and Family Law. He concentrates his health care practice in the representation of physicians and other professionals who appear before the Illinois Department of Professional Regulation and the Illinois Department of Public Aid. He also represents physicians in hospital peer review and medical staff privileging matters, as well as other civil and criminal matters relating to health care. Michael travels the entire state of Illinois representing physicians in administrative hospital hearings as well as in the various circuit courts to seek injunctive relief on their behalf. To date he has argued and presented evidence in administrative and circuit court cases on behalf of doctors subject to medical staff discipline in over 15 counties across Illinois. He is a Panel Attorney with the Federal Defender Program, where he represents criminal defendants in the United State's District Court. In addition, Michael concentrates his Family law practice in the areas of grandparent visitation and custody and parent's rights. In 2002 he argued a case on grandparent visitation before the Illinois Supreme Court- Wickham v. Byrne, and in 2005 he wrote the new Illinois Grandparent Visitation Act.He is widely published and lectures frequently on the topic of grandparent visitation. His Family Law practice extends to all parts of Illinois.
